Youth Rider Track Session at Middlesbrough Velodrome – 27th October 1pm – 3pm

We have received an e-mail from Jason Kotch about a session for youth riders at the Velodrome in Middlesbrough during the half-term holidays.

The details are below but if anyone needs any more info just grab Mike Charlton

Hi Everyone.

Could you please share this info with the youth track riders in your club, thanks.

On Tuesday 27th October 1pm – 3pm there will be a track coaching session led by Chris Bush at Middlesbrough Velodrome for youth riders.

To attend riders should be in British Cycling age Categories A, B or second year C (about to move up into B).

This is a session for experienced track riders who are racing or intend to race and should already have the following track skills;

  • Ride on the blue line holding the wheel in front, changing off the front each lap.
  • Ride 2 laps at the top of the track.
  • Ride in a group in pairs, changing off the front in pairs.
  • Be confident in and moving around in a bunch.
  • Sprint out of the saddle.

With this being an outdoor velodrome the session is weather dependent and riders should bring sufficient clothing and layers to keep warm during winter, you will also need your own track bike.

Please arrive early for signing on and briefing so we can get on the track at 1pm.

Cost will be £5 per rider, pay on the day, no need to book in at reception.

Regards,

Jason Kotch
