Spring Coaching Programme – MTB & Road

On Saturday 4th March we move to our Spring Coaching Programme detailed below.  Coaches will also be on hand to talk to parents once the session starts to go over any questions you might have on Coaching, Racing and the British Cycling Membership & Pathway.

Road Coaching

Primarily all groups will move to Road coaching from this Saturday 4th March.  Riders will still be coached in their respective groups.  It doesn’t mean you need a road bike, just that coaching will be on the cycle track and not on the equestrian field.   Road bias tyres would be an advantage.  We still may run coaching on the equestrian field for some of our younger riders when we feel this is appropriate for their session plan.

Mountain Bike Coaching

As in previous years, our coaches will also be running sessions for the club’s MTB Riders.  These sessions are typically aimed for CAT C (age 12) riders and above covering MTB specific skills such as wheel lifts, step up, drop offs and off-road riding techniques over more challenging terrain.  If any parents with riders under 12 who are interested in joining the MTB sessions please speak to Mike Hoy or Dave Mclean.  MTB coaching will be available most Saturday’s however due to coach availability it may not be possible to run every weekend.  Riders will be advised if MTB is not available the following week and will be encouraged to join the road sessions.  We will also post to the website.
