The second event in our new Learn to Train programme will be held at Great Lumley Community Centre this coming Thursday, 19th May from 19:00-21:00.
Building on our previous presentations at the first event held on 14th April, this time we will be introducing more specific input on training methods on and off the bike, plus bite-size planning for your big event. We will also introduce the concept of benchmarking so that riders can learn to understand when they are actually better. This material will again be presented by Tony Hodgson with Luke Parkin and other Hetton coaches. We will cover:
- Physical changes caused by training and competing
- How to recognise what is happening during exercise – training zones
- Training sessions on the bike and using other types of exercise
- Planning for your big event – using a “Mesocycle” to create a period of preparation (it’s not a new type of bicycle….)
Further details of the programme dates and the 1:1 service will also be added to the accompanying article that will appear very shortly.
